HUAT LAI RESOURCES BERHAD

HUAT LAI RESOURCES BERHAD (HLRB) was incorporated in Malaysia on 12 November 1994and was listed on Bursa Malaysia in a relatively short span of eight years on 2 July 2002.

From a modest 15-acre layer farm which produces eggs only, it has now grown to be one of thelargest integrated poultry operators in Malaysia. This encapsulates the dynamic growth of HLRBwhich is today one of the leading producers of commercial table eggs, breeder of layer day oldchicks, breeder of broiler day old chickens, broiler chickens and also further processed chicken inMalaysia.

Since incorporation, HLRB has strived to operate as a fully integrated unit. Under thestewardship of its Managing Director, Mr. Lim Yeow Her, the HLRB Group has invested heavilyin the automation of its production facilities. In 1997 it invested in a feed mill factory employingstate-of-the-art European technology to produce its own feed. It has two subsidiaries whichcomplements its main activities. One is GREEN FRIEND FERTILIZER SDN BHD whichproduces organic fertilizer from chicken manure and thus taking care of waste management. Theother one is HUAT LAI PAPER PRODUCTS SDN BHD which produces paper egg trays for in houseuse whilst any excess is sold to other egg producers.

It has been and will always be a philosophy of the Group to produce only the best quality ofproducts. Hence, it is of utmost importance that the Group continue to adhere to the strict biosecuritymeasures in place and use world class technology in maximizing its production levelswithout compromising the quality of its products. In addition, the Group is able to exercise qualitycontrol throughout the production chain starting from the production of eggs up to the breeding ofits own layer and broiler chickens with its own feed.

With all its fully integrated facilities, state-of-the-art technology and environmentally friendlyapproach in its operations, HUAT LAI is well poised to meet the expectations of an increasinglysophisticated consumer market.
